Mr. Smith is a wonderful story teller who draws you in with humor, whit and colorful images of his characters. This story is quite an entertaining tale of his friendship and bond with a very intelligent little dog named Gator. If anyone has ever owned a pet with tons of personality and intelligence they will certainly be able to relate with Mr. Smith's recollections of life with Gator. It has certainly brought back cherished memories of mishaps and adventures with my own beloved pets as well. I appreciate the author's ability to weave his story in such a way that it left me feeling as though I were traveling right there along side of Gator and his master in their journeys and discoveries. Thanks for the ride!
Here is the perfect little gift book for that hard to buy for person as well as for yourself if you are looking for a refreshing read. This book about a man and his dog records their adventures and bonding process with inviting insight. A former professor at a University and never-say-die author took to the road when he refused to swallow evolution and Darwin as gospel. He and Gator began their nomadic life and found their trips across the United States another labratory for education. As in all things, good and bad can be found but this new world seen through caring eyes that Christ gives afforded Dr. Smith a new balance with his four legged companion. All of Dr. Smith's books are full of a zest for living allowing the reader to refreshingly partake in experiences through his inviting, story-telling approach.
