Growing up in the 1960’s and ‘70’s was awe-some! People gathered in big groups for family reunions, potluck dinners at church, RV campouts, etc. and everyone brought their favorite dishes for all to partake of and enjoy! My Mama was famous for her flaky pastries and pie crusts – they were perfect! She always said her secret ingredient was love! Then over the years, mothers-in-law, daughter and neighbors added to my treasure of recipes to where my second husband and I never ate out because we could cook better than the restaurants! Some of my recipes are well known favorites and others are just tried and true gems. If I infringe on any copyrights, I apologize because I just knew them as family favorites, all on my old, barely-legible-anymore index cards. I hope you enjoy them, cook with your kids and may they become your family favorites too!

Just received the book yesterday. Very easy to read; the recipes look to be simple yet very delicious! I am looking forward to trying some of these right away. Thank you for publishing this! ***Update*** After reading the book and trying out some of it's recipes, I can say this is a great source of recipes! I've always been concerned with losing the knowledge and wisdom of our parents and grandparents; Pat was successful in capturing this wisdom and put it in this book to share with everyone!
